Washington DC

DC Metro

Flying visit to Alexandria, VA for a couple of days. The approach to Reagan Airport was cool. Coming in to land we flew by all the major monuments and did a right turn at the last minute and touched down. The runway is short so we had full reverse thrust almost the entire length, not much room for error!

I managed to get an afternoon in DC via the excellent Metro system. I really like the architecture, every station has the same design with differing layouts.

It was pretty hot and humid in mid-August so I did a quick walk around Washington Monument and The Ellipse before heading into the Natural History Museum until closing time to beat the heat.

The Onion

I never knew The Onion was a printed publication which made a nice change to USA Today.
