Thievery Corporation

We went to see Thievery Corporation who were playing tonight at The Moore Theatre. I always thought they were more of a DJ outfit, which they were, but they were much more. The core appeared to be a duo on the decks and drum machine/keyboards. They also had additional musicians on vocals, guitar, sitar, percussion and brass. James counted at least 15 musicians throughout the lengthy gig.

They played plenty of my favourites with a really diverse sound, ranging from chill out, latin to ska. Unfortunately the Moore sucks as venue as it is all fixed seating. They really should have held the gig with an open plan floor. It didn't stop the people in front of us who were certainly on some amphetamines and at the end lit up a smoke.

The second finale was hilarious. The group started inviting all the front row girls up on stage to dance along. One of the girls who went up took out a pipe and started smoking right in front of the entire audience. You could really smell it!
