BA / Boeing / 787 Dreamliner

We had an invite from BA to attend an event for their updated Club World product at Boeing, Seattle. With hors d'oeuvres, drinks and a chance to tour round the 787 and 747-8 interior mock ups, could we say no?

The Boeing venue was pretty cool with interiors for the 787, 747-8, 777 and 737 series and a lot of BA equipment, from interiors including seats, to AVOD selection and spa displays. It was tempting to raid the Club Kitchen display for some mini Crunchie bars, but since we weren't on a plane we stuck with the event food/drinks.

The interiors for the new 787 and 747-8 were pretty cool with a modernized look and feel and generally more headroom.

The coolest part of the event was a recorded view of all commercial flights, worldwide. This display was showing data recorded that day. 5 minutes of time was represented each second on the display, so you could easily see the progress of each flight.

The most scary data point was seeing over 12,000 flights in progress. A lot of it appeared to be converging in Western Europe, but there was generally a lot of traffic in North America and also in South East Asia.
