Friday Harbor, San Juan Island

Took a couple of days off work for a romantic break on San Juan Island, just east of Vancouver Island. We stayed at Friday Harbor, a small town (or perhaps a village), which still had excellent amenities. After some debate on whether to hire a moped, we decided to cycle around the island to a good vantage point. This ended up being a rather sore idea, but the 18 mile ride had some great vantage points. Today we took a boat tour out, in search for the whales that live around the San Juan Islands. The weather was stunningly clear, but as we travelled south we moved into thick dense mist and visibility dropped to below 100ft. Felt more like Pirates of the Carribean. After a few hours of searching we managed to catch up with one of the pods.
